The Serif-Less Letters of John Soane was published in the book 'Pen, print and communication in the eighteenth century' published by Liverpool University Press in 2020. There is currently a two-year publishers embargo on the chapter. But it will be available to download here as a fully illustrated full colour version from the 4th of August in 2022.

Soane's distinctive serif-less letterforms he used as titling on many of his drawings represent the origins of Sans serif typography and as such Sir John Soane is considered a 'Prophet of Modernism.'
